NORWAY SPRUCE TREE Conically Created Native of northern Europe. One of the fastest growing spruces. Shiny, dark green needles. Dense branches make it a great tree for windbreaks. The Norway Spruce tree, Picea abies, is becoming more and more popular. It is a mature, majestic specimen. For Christmas trees, the Norway are poor choices - UNLESS purchased within 2 weeks of Christmas. Why? Needle Retention is poor.
